I remember Ive seen exactly the same dialogues in every single English text book in Korea. It goes like this. A: Hi, Tom.(or John, Jane, Mike, rarely James) How are you? B: Im fine, thank you. And you? The dialogue is repeated so many times that it is even more securely set in Korean peoples minds than the first line of the national anthem. Id say it is an almost mechanical, automatic reaction to the question. The thing is, I thought it was quite ridiculous that every Korean responded in exactly the same way as if brainwashed.
